The leftist policies I am referring to have nothing to do with being a welfare society. I was referring to other things. As it is forbidden to mention those things on Medium, I cannot explain.
My political and economic values include:
1. Mixed economies in which the state uses taxes to build a solid infrastructure like communications, public transport, a safety net, good skills building and education, social housing, etc. In case you're not politically educated, a mixed economy is half capitalism and half socialism.
2. A well educated electorate, because when people are not informed, they vote for bad leaders. This might also mean a qualified electorate. If you don't know what that means, it means one earns the right to vote, otherwise one ends up with people who vote for people like Boris and Trump. Thankfully in the UK, Keir Starmer is back to nationalizing the railways.
3. I believe in leadership that anticipates the future and prepares for it. That has long gone out of fashion. Nobody prepared for climate change, despite it being known about since the late 19th century.
You have no idea what I am talking about. You're too busy projecting your judgements onto me, too busy trying to force me to say what you want me to say. People have different capabilities. You cannot force someone with an IQ of 70 to become an Einstein. It doesn't work that way. So when you start talking about making everybody equal, it's not possible.
The only thing one can do is provide a safety net and the ability to live a life without too much stress. Nothing, however, will make someone who is tone deaf a Pavarotti.
Throwing money at people who do not have the ability to become what they dream of becoming but don't have the ability to, is not going to change that.. Currently, what people on the far left in America want is to make everybody equal.
One can give equal opportunity, but one cannot make people equal. One can also provide welfare payments, but nothing that one can do will ever make Joe Soap become Elvis Presley.
I think it's time you moved on to read someone else. Never did meet a psychotherapist who was any good at reading people correctly.
Also, from my experience, people who grow up in privilege and without extreme hardship project their intellectual understanding but don't know how to read the room.
Goodbye.
