The fact is that thse aren't writers. They are wannabe writers, and they will never be writers. I've come to the conclusion that it is essential to have, at least, above average intelligence, and quite a good general knowledge. If one has nothing of worth to write about, then one is not a writer.

Merely being literate (semiliterate, in most cases) does not make one a writer.
