The country with the most per capita usage of energy is America. They're also the greatest polluters. You cannot compare the waste and energy usage of America and China without considering that China has 1.3 billion people while America has 320 million. Obviously China is going to expend more energy. She has 4 times more people (is my math right?).

It's when you look at it per capita that you see America is the culprit. The other culprits are the super rich and business.

Of course, there is hypocrisy. Electric cars don't solve anything. They just get their electricity via an electric plug. But the electricity comes from fossil fuels. Any solution offered by business is not a solution. They're in it for profit and they won't tell you the real cost to the environment.

Every time someone uses concrete, they are using sand. The sand of the earth is disappearing rapidly. In China (and many other countries), they have built endless office blocks or block towers for renters). A lot of them are standing empty - like strip malls and shopping malls in America.

This is business. Business also brainwashers consumers through endless advertising. You have to buy this or that otherwise you won't be accepted and you won't be promoted or rise up the ladder to career success.

Climate change is real. I just spent a few days in London worrying whether I was going to face excessive heat or floods. Fortunately, missed that, but got home to Ireland, and it was sweltering.
