That would apply very specifically to America, and, of course, the UK, since Blair changed the direction of Labour. And that would only apply to the actual governments that have been in power.

I would say that Bernie Sanders in America is on the left, and so are Jeremy Corbyn and Nicola Sturgeon in the UK. Most definitely, in South Africa, the ANC is on the left as are various other parties. In both Germany and France, there are several parties on the left.

But, yes, the world has been steadily moving right for a very long time.
