That is crazy. I grew up in an elitist environment (not USA). The school I attended cost the entire annual earnings of someone in the top 15%. Put two or three of your kids in that school, and you know your parents earned quite a lof of money.

And, no, while sports was mandatory, there was and is no such thing as a sports scholarship. One learnt to swim, to play tennis, ride horses, or various other team sports for social and fitness reasons.

Rich people don't need sports scholarships. I was sponsored to America through someone in my old girls network. They were, as we put it, in those days 'welloff.' One would nevee be so vulgar as to use the word 'rich.'

No. They didn't get their kids into sports to win scholarships. Why bother. They could afford to pay Ivy League fees for their kids.

I think you're wrong about this.
