That is also true. The new math is confusing as hell. We started in it 1967 for a few weeks, and then it was scrapped. We returned to the old math. I can't imagine why anyone thinks it's easier. It's not.

Yes, if one is unfortunate enough tob e rared by parents who speak badly and then go to a school where the kids speak badly, writing becomes very difficult.

I'm one of those rare people who speak as I write, and it has been difficult to learn to speak more informally. :)
