I was in the country (well, I was in London but had to fly back to South Africa) when the lockdown came. About the strictest outside China, but Cyril Ramaphosa is an excellent leader and the South African virology lab is world class.

At one point, the mortality rate in Yemen was 20%, so anyone saying that this was not a serious disease was seriously lacking in knowledge. Lockdown protected us in a way that those who were in the midst of civil war did not enjoy.
