I don't know if you did 123&Me, but I discovered that I have a lot of relatives in New York. They were a branch of the family that moved there at the turn of the 20th century - about 1900/1910. I've got my family tree until about 1786 but my daughter has it now. I want to fill in all the names on the geneology chart but can't figure out which are the maternal or paternal lines.

My paternal grandmother was from Poland - Rosenthal. And I had a great grandfather who was a Rabbi in Berlin in the late 1800s. I left all the documentation with my daughter when I left America to go back to the UK (Scotland). Um. Yes. I sort of get around. I think we were also related to a family by the name Preuff, but I can't figure out how it fits in with us. Most of the documentation is in German, and my German isn't good enough.

Oh, I also think that the strength of the Jewish people is the Diasporah.
