Thank you for mentioning me. I think, though, the days of my being a top writer on Medium are long gone. Unlike other writers here, I don't do marketing, and I don't sell writing skill know how

That can all be obtained - free - in my magazine on Medium 'Born to Write.' I have been published since 1962 on three continents and won numerous prizes for my writing. Some of my reviews are in my about section, but they can also be seen on Good Reads.

I think there is more to it than writing everyday. One has to be willing to say the kind of things that people want to read. As a traditionally trained journalist, I still stick with the old standards, so my readership tends to be older and more highly educated. Doesn't get one into the 'boost' section, though.

Most of my income comes from reader support on sites like Ko-fi and Patreon, and I have had financial support from some readers for a decade, many of them following me from site to site.

It saddens me that in order to be successful on Medium, I must focus on making friends and influencing people. As my late father, a Jewish Journalist in Nazi Germany, being a writer is about being the voice of justice, the voice of exposure, and if it means less pennies or death, that is the price.

There is a reason that journalists are now paying the ultimate price. Being a sane voice in a world gone mad has never been popular.
