Stu, I have never seen a community note on opinions. I have seen community notes on advertisements, on things that have little, if anything to do with politics.
There is a tremendous amount of political argument, but I have never seen community notes on any political argument.
In fairness, I have blocked everybody who sides with Jihadi, as I'm not interested in those arguments. The trans argument was won on X by JK Rowling, especially with all the research that has been presented in the last year.
I used to consider myself progressive, and by that I meant what it used to mean 150 years ago - allowing science and research to lead, and to present those solutions for governance. For instance, we were taught that the purpose of giving everybody an excellent education was to prevent a descent into civil strife.
There is a lot of noise on X, and after nearly a year on it, I have probably blocked more people than I can count. I have also marked all people I follow that I don't want to see their 'reposts.' I just want to see what they, personally, think.
It has worked for me.
I find that my opinions are more reflected than any other place. I find a lot of common sense. I also find a lot of wrong information and a lot of right information. I generally check what I suspect to be wrong, and then I check the people/person who posted it, read through what they wrote, and if everything they wrote is bs, I block them.
Over a period of time, I have really come to enjoy X. Do I agree with Elon Musk? On some issues, yes, and on other issues no. I also think he is suffering from too much hubris. He did finally respond to my constant comment that mankind was never going to settle on Mars and said that the degree of research in attempting to do so is beneficial to mankind. He would be right. Things like microwave ovens and red light treatment come from NASA.
What is also interesting is the sheer number of press stories that find their origin on X. I never liked Twitter. I do like X.
One last thing. I'm going to go premium and begin to write on there. I can say things there that I cannot say here. I might never earn anything, but at least there is no censorship.
