Steve, I have more readers than wiiters. I can see that from the fact that a) they only give one clap and b) they don't have any writing on their profile when I check.
I don't think I said it was early adopters who wrote self-help articles and listicles. It was early adopters - didn't matter what they wrote.
Those who wrote self-help articles, etc. have certainly flourished, and, yes, they earlier they got in, the better. Those who write that kind of stuff, provided they get lucky still get an audience.
The reason that money making sites constantly go downhill is because there are always marketers who will want to increase their numbers by selling 'success.'
One of the reasons I've changed my mind about Vocal Media is that it approves personally every single article, and that kind of stuff is not permitted.
I have an increasing readership. I'm not quite sure why yet, but I'll figure it out at some point and write about it.
