Spoken like a truly shortsighted man. China, Canada, and Eurrope all have massive public transport. The longest rail routes in the world are in Russia and Canada. A few years ago, China built a massive rail system from China through to Spain.

It has absolutely nothing to do with America being large. There are massuve rail systems everywhere else - only America is still stuck in the mid 1950s.

There is no reason why the other 'pressing issues' cannot be looked after simultaneously. You should go visit China sometime annd learn the difference between planning for the long term future and constantly flying by the seat of one's pants.

For, having lived and worked in both Europe and Africa, I found America to be severely lacking in first world amenities and structure. It far more closely resembled the third world.
