Sorry, I disagree. I've lived in too many countries, and the type of government and the culture of the society are 100% responsible for whether people are well-adjusted or not.

People in America live in range, anger, and abuse as a result of the economic system that is highly stressful. The abuse comes as a result of people not being able to manage, and that ability to manage is 100% the result of dog-eat-dog economic system in America.

It doesn't help that people are taught that there is a god to rely on them. When help doesn't come from that god, they go nuts and they begin to justify their god's failure to help.
