So let me cheer you up with the latest research. Not. I read it all the time as most governments (except those in Asia) have seen fit to pay the price of a percentage of people dying and a much larger percentage having shortened lifespans.
1. The latest variants for Omicron ignore the vaccination. They have found a way around it.
2. The virologists who actually count say it's going to around another 8 or so years.
3. There's a 5% chance of a super-dangerous variant evolving, and because people are now, for the main maskless, there's a high chance there will be a high mortality rate.
4. China is keeping zero-tolerance covid policy for the next 5 years. I'm inclined to believe China on this score.
5. There is no happy ending here. It's either live in isolation i.e. wear a mask and keep a heathly distance from others, especially when one is indoors. Or it's get infected.
6. Everytime one gets Covid, it shortens the telomeres. And the shorter the telomeres, the shorter the lifepan. One third of people who get covid have permanent damage of one of the other organs.
I'm just extremely thankful that for the past decade, I've worked on living with as little as possible, have no debt, and will somehow scrape by.
