…t only if we let it. Emotions are an initial response that then needs to be cognitively challenged. Authoritative oppressors mute our ability to challenge by exaggerating our emotional responses and shift us into activating our fight or flight responses where cognition is muted.

So does advertising, propaganda, and public relations. In addition, influencers, salesmen, and many writers do the same thing. Take Umair Haque for instance.
