Really? I did not know that. For as long as I have lived, Americans has always referred to people in the USA. But that might explain a very frustrating conversation I had with a group of people on Google Plus. They ewre insistant that Americans were not people who lived in the USA, but who lived in both Americas. You just taught me something.

Ah, I see where you are going. You're trying to define being American as relating to a particular type of history you have. Okay, I got that. But, then,one cannot change the history of a country. How then, are people un-American?
