Really? I actually prefer the German weather to the Portuguese weather. I'd rather go north than south. I left Germany because it was impossible for me to live there - to breathe there. When I realized that they were going to tax me 60% of my income, and I could live in Portugal tax free for 10 years, there wasn't a moment's hesitation.

I spent 11 years in the States, and have lived in the EU, the UK, the US, and Africa. Regardless of what you think about the political system, in all the countries I have lived in, all of them come down to the two party system. The other parties are too weak to provide much competition.

Regardless of what you think, Germany is not functioning well at all. It is depending financially on huge machinery that it manufactures for China (China uses that machinery to manufacture goods of the USA).

I might stay in Portugal for the rest of my life (depending on how long I live), but if Scotland becomes independent, I will go back to Scotland as it is safer climate wise.
