Really?

Being a writer is the title given to someone who is published and writes for a living. The same rule applies to being an actor, a doctor, a seamstress, a singer.

The current idea by so many that everybody is a writer who wants to be a writer comes from a book written by Julia Cameron 'The Artist's Way." It's nonsense.

Your sentence, "There's more than writing on Medium that gets you paid for your writing." I don't even know what that sentence means.

Writing on a consistent basis, every day, week, month or year doesn't make you a writer. If you don't have the talent, the brains, the command of language, the storytelling ability, etc, and if you write semi-literate nonsense, I don't care how often you write, you are not a writer.
