Personally, I don't think there is such a thing as natural human rights - no more than there are natural lion rights or natural snake rights or natural baby Yoda rights.

What we have is legislation that permits people to behave in certain ways. This is a branch of law - civil rights. Without these laws in various countries, there are no human rights.

I also believe that ethics are rules that determine the greatest good (optimal survival) for the greater number for the longer period of time. I think we can determine what is ethical by working out in advance what the likely outcome of actions will be - on others.
