Perhaps the fault lies in the idea of the individualism - the pursuit of happiness. Perhaps the real pursuit should have been building towards a planet that works for everybody without making some people richer and more important than others. Perhaps, community should have been the focus, and fixing up the community with clean water, easy food sources, etc. Perhaps profit should have gone out the window.

Even now, as the world is fucking dying, all I see here on Medium are thousands of wannabe writers who have no talent for it whatsoever being hoodwinked by other people telling them that they can 'learn to write.' Somethings you can't learn. It's an inate ability.

The still have 'dreams.' They speak about 'following their passions.' How the fuck are people so self-involved and our world is dying around us?
