People who get offended by a single clap, or who ask for claps or followers, aren't writers. They are wannabes, generally without the talent, intellect, and humility that it takes to be a writer.

One cannot learn to be a writer. It is a combination of learnt skills (British spelling) and several innate talents that are developed by the time one is twelve or thirteen.
