“People SHOULD be allowed to self identify, as people SHOULD have liberty. Liberty means true liberty, the ability to be yourself without superimposed restrictions... Whether that be on a personal gender identity or otherwise.”

The kind of liberty that you describe would mean that psychopaths would be free to go and murder other people simply because they true nature was one that enjoyed killing others. Laws were created by humans so that people could live together in safety and peace. Laws, including the laws about liberty, were never meant to ensure that everybody could do exactly what they liked because they liked it or wanted it. That would open the doors to all sorts of criminality.

If people are forced to accept the word of other people as truth, then it would become a crime to accuse a person of stealing just because he said he wasn’t stealing, when, in fact, you witnessed him stealing.

There is no such thing as ‘true liberty’ on earth. One man’s meat is another man’s poison. If one person wants to pee in the pool, another doesn’t want him to. If one person wants to go around shooting other people, the people being shot at might disapprove. If someone believes that they are a bird and can fly, should others stop her from jumping off a 20 story building just because people should be allowed to self-identify?

What about the fact that people have eyes in their heads, and that human-beings evolved with eyes, ears, brains, etc. to be able to make assessments?

This is not a clear-cut issue. I’m personally of the opinion that while only .3 to .7% of the population are transgender, it is acceptable for them to have their own areas. It is a lot of people in terms of numbers.
