I don’t think there is much of a resemblance between Hitler’s 30s and what is happening in America today.

While many are comparing Donald Trump to Hitler, I would take issue. I would compare Donald Trump to the Emperor Nero. Hitler, I don’t think, was stupid. In addition, during his rise to power, he created many industries (e.g. Volkswagen) which are still operating today. He took a country that was recovering from a defeat in WWI, that was paying massive damages to the British Empire, where my late father told me that they carried money around in suitcases, and he put it on a solid economic ground. Forgive me, but I don’t see any of this in Trump.

Now, if we were to talk about the Emperor Nero, I can see quite a likeness.

“Most Roman sources offer overwhelmingly negative assessments of his personality and reign. Most contemporary sources describe him as tyrannical, self-indulgent, and debauched. The historian Tacitus claims the Roman people thought him compulsive and corrupt. Suetonius tells that many Romans believed the Great Fire of Rome was instigated by Nero to clear land for his planned “Golden House”. Tacitus claims Nero seized Christians as scapegoats for the fire and had them burned alive, seemingly motivated not by public justice, but personal cruelty.” Source
