Over the last few months something inside me has changed. I used to be so brave (or foolhardy) and used to intervene when things got rough. I can't do that anymore. Something inside me is now unable to take the ugliness. I can't even look at a movie which has violence and nastiness inside it. I just shrink inside. Something has fundamentally changed. I just can't bear it anymore. I don't know how anyone can be part of it all.
