One isn't banning people. One is banning irrationality.

You show me one religion that does not have evil commands - the murder of others who do not believe, the influencing and indoctrination of children when they are young, the enforcement of their creed on others, the exclusion, torture, and death sentence for those who don't believe, etc. There isn't a single religion (when you have studied them) that does not have some horrific evil attached to it.

Certainly, people can believe what they like. However, religion is a particular creed with an organisation attached to it, and it grows in power, and then it inflicts its beliefs on others.
