One cannot prove intent, so that's a bit of a silly statement. And I disagree. Compliments that are given to establish trust and show appreciation have the same agenda.

The only compliments that I appreciate are the one's without an agenda. In other words, someone walks up to me on the street and says, "Nice dress you're wearing," then walks away never to be seen again.
