One can tell how much a product is worth simply by the number of items sold. 'What the market can bear' has nothing to do with it.

Profit is destroying our world. We have been in a state of over-production since the 60s, and our landfills are full of products that have been discarded by companies which over produced. Also, fashion houses and many other companies burn their stock rather than sell them at a discounted price.

Good ideas for the rest - some seem libertarian (which I don't like). Any evidence that a system like you suggest would work?
