One can always tell the people who learnt something thirty years ago and never updated their knowledge. I have known for at least a decade that depression is not caused by a chemical imblance EVER. I have written about it at times, quoting the world's leading psychiatrists and psychocologosts.
A few weeks ago, if you bothreed to keep up with these things, one more piece of ressearch came out. Depression has NEVER been the result of a chemical imbalance.
The guy who put forth that theory withdrew it three years after he submitted it. The pharmaceutical companies, however, had by that time
'a solution.' That solution has been subduing and killing people ever since.
The Journal of Molecular Pschiatry publsihed a study this week that shows that there is no evidence that depression is caused by different levels of serotonin. For the record, there have been an enormous number of studies in that field, and not a single one has shown a correlation between chemicals in the brain and depression.
And, yes, I've read the Harvard studies. I've read more studies than I can think of. I've read, I think, some 600 books on mental healthy.
Generally when people throw their toys out of the window when I say that depression is not caused by a chemical imbalance, it's because the person is depressed.
