Nothing is inclusive in this world. The human species, like every other species, has a hierarchical social system.

Nor has They and Them ever been singular. My reading, which started in 1959, included many books from the 19th century - by the time I was 14 years old, I had read virtually all the classics. I would have noticed something like that.

In addition, my education included English, Afrikaans, German, French, and Latin. One has to be able to decline tenses. Again, They and Them have never been singular - not for the past 60 years anyway.

As I explained earlier, I spent some years as an editor for two publishing houses in London, plus I have worked for newspapers, magazines, business (as a writer), done ghostwriting, been a script doctor for a movie, etc.
