Not true. What is true is that people who write about writing do not appeal to readers. Readers have no interest in learning to write, so they do what I do - they mute anyone who writes about writing. :) I generally read someone once, and then mute them after that.

I'm just fascinated by the number of people who are not professional writers and they give other people advice on writing.
