No, science is not still studying whether it's nurture or nature. It has been known for at least 50 years that the level of intelligence is 100% genetic.

it was first realized through twin and triplet studies. When these children were separated and reared by different parents, there are certain areas, one of which was intelligence, which came through at the same levels over and over again. Their parents would be different.

If nurture was the influencing factor, I would be retarded. I faced 42 years of extreme abuse. Instead, I have an IQ which has been measured between 165 and off-the-graph. My late brother's was 185, as was my late father's. Nothing to do with how children are brought up.

Someone who does not have the brain energy to question things won't, and people with average intelligence don't question. They don't question because the brain uses up more energy that any other organ in the body.

Sorry, if this sounds harsh. I'm so sick and tired of reading about critical thinking being the solution to it all. I've been educated on three continents with many different types of teaching. Therre are those people who spot the holes and there are those who don't. It has nothing to do with critical thinking. It is the ability to spot the differences between fact and fiction.
