My apologies. I just couldn't believe that someone could actually think that that idea would solve climate change.
You're talking about the middle and upper classes in America who own homes. Even if all of them start growing their own food, it's not going to solve anything.
1. It's unrealistic to think that growing sufficient food in a garden is that easy. Somebody wrote a story about how and several friends of his attempted to do just that, and why it faile.d
2. The climate is going to bring floods, droughts, fires, etc. Many of those gardens might be lost because of that.
3. As the problem is pollution, growing one's own food is not going to solve that.
I accept that we have to look at other ways of growing food and providing for each other, and I'm all for the community working together, but without the major steps being taken, we are still going to be subject to fires, droughts, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, wnow storms and floods at an increasing rate.
That said, the world is much bigger than America's middle and upper classes who can afford to own homes.
You stated that nobody will have any interest in it untl the breakdown of the infrastructure, and that's exactly my point. That's why your plan (or my plan) will not work.
We solve climate change by changing the economic system, stopping the production of unnecessary products, eliminating cars, implementing a solid public transport system, implmenting a universal basic income, and more.
My apologies for not taking to your idea, but I've been working at this since 1970. There's very little I haven't looked at. I also dont' live in America.
