Might I suggest that you write something about the poem before publishing the poem. it's something I do with all my poems. I give the history of writing it (the year) and something about what inspired me to write the poem. To be honest, I didn't do this to increase the read, just simply because in the years I studied the poetry, the context in which the poem was written was important.
