I truly doubt that we will be seeing fission anytime soon. The stories are there in order to find investors. We are a very long way from that, and long before it arrives, climate change will have wreaked havoc in our world.

As for the batteries, the materials used inside them are mined in a way that leaves the environment toxic, and when the batteries have expired, they are toxic as well. Imagine batteries for 8 billion people.
