Matthew 3 16.17As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
Luke 3:21-22. Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, "You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased."
These were not Pauline gospels. Again, i have said that there is no evidence that Jesus ever existed - that there is only evidence for the early Christian church. It doesn't matter what the New Testament says about what Jesus said. He clearly didn't say any of it if he didn't exist.
Also, there are many contradictions in the New Testament (as in the Old Testament). I have long forgotten them as after studying it for a decade 50 years ago, I walked out of the church - load of nonsense.
Roman and Greek societies looked down on women. At the time, the Jews were very concerned about assimilation, because their own culture was being overwhelmed by Roman and Greek belief systems. We know nothing about Jesus, and my story is written from the current standpoint of evangelical religions beliefs.
So stop nit picking. All 'holy' scriptures are just bunches of myths and legends of primitive societies.
