Lordie, I am so pleased that the more I looked at the book, the more I decided not to read it.

The novel has two jumping-bean storylines that bounce back and forth in time between 1952 and 1970, a disorienting literary device that’s sometimes an author’s way of saying: “I couldn’t figure out how to tell this story as the chronological narrative that would have been easier to follow.”

Lordie, I am so pleased that the more I looked at the book, the more I decided not to read it. I absolutely cannot stand reading books where the author keeps jumping backwards and forwards.
