Let's see. In the middle of the 19th century, as a result of the constant persecution of the Jews and them having to live in ghettos, Theodore Hertzl suggested that people return to Israel. "Next year in Jerusalem.'
So the Jews, in small numbers, gradually, over a period of time buy up parcels of land in Palestine, a province, at that time, of the Ottoman Empire. Right from the start, there are skirmishes between the Jews and the Palestinians, because the Palestinians were a nomadic people, and they could now no longer park on certain land that their ancestors had been doing for millennia because Jews now owned it.
The situation never got any better. The more Jews arrived, the more feuding and fighting there was.
On top of that, the British promised both the Arabs and the Jews the same land - the Balfour agreement. Of course, the Brits couldn't deliver, and eventually just left the Palestinian mandate in 1948, and war broke out between Insrael and Palestine.
Of course, prior to that, the UN had tried to divide the land so that the Jews had some and Palestine had some. Palestine was not prepared to accept that. Why should they? The land had been theirs for millennia.
So the Iraelis won, but they took far more land than the U.N. allocated to them, and they have been taking more and more and more land as the decades have passed.
Ben Gurion said that there would never be peace in Israel because the Jews had stolen the land from the Palestinians.
Every time Israel wants to build new homes, they take more land from Palestine.
Oh, yes, so the Palestine, desperate to have their land back, attack Israel. And Israel believes this land belongs to her because some mystical non-existant god gave her the land 3000 years ago.
And, of course, the Jews feel that they should be entitled to 'self-determination.'
I'm not quite sure why you think that Palestine doesn't have a reason for attacking Israel. From Israel's point of view, the Palestinians are animals because they keep attacking 'peaceful Israel.'
Might I ask you why you think I don't understand the Israeli/Palestinians situation?
