Let me be quite clear. People with Asperger's do NOT suffer from a lack of compassion. They have never suffered from a lack of compassion. What they 'suffer from' is a lack of honesty about who they are.
I have a reputation for being deeply insightful of who people are. I read people like a book. What is true is that people do not like their real selves being exposed, and that is what I never understood and what confused me for a lifetime.
In my early 30s, after being punished for decades by adults who claimed I said awful untrue things about people, a mass of adults started apologizing to me, saying "You were right. How did you know?" Even my late father apololgized to me, just before he died, and said, "You were right, you know."
Let me also be blunt. I couldn't write the way I do if I lacked an understanding of people, or if I lacked compassion. So get over your idea that just because people have Asperger's, they lack compassion.
Electric cars do not cause less harm than gas powered cars. The amount of damage done by rare earth mininng is killing people in Africa and China. Just because, electric cars are not killing people in America doesn't meawn their manufacture aren't killing people elsewhere.
I suggest you read Umair Haque's article on Musk. It's far worse than mine. Bear in mind he is one of the lead thinkers in the world.
