I have run two climate change groups. I have written about climate change, pollution, pandemics. I have quoted and referenced endless scientific abstracts.

I have been ignored. So have other media that have tried to explain the danger of consumerism and for-profit business to humanity. The Guardian said that it didn't write about more climate change because when it did, sales went down. So, sorry, it's not true that people like me write in order to earn moneu. We actually lose readers. The real money makers are the people who promise people rose gardens.
