Just because some of your writing is doing better than other pieces doesn't mean that they're doing well enough. My top article earned $4300, and it was mentioned by various newspapers throughout the world which brought my story traffic. It had about 28,000 READs not views. It was about Israel.

Susie, I earn a living on and through Medium. I don't do anything else. I've been earning a living on the web (sometimes very badly) for a very long time. It is all I do. Trust that I know something about writing on the web.

Writing about writing will earn you a bit. My writing magazine 'Born to Write' has been said to be the best advice about writing on Medium. I have been approached by writing professors of creative writing classes from Ivy League universities in the States to use some of my articles about writing in their classes. My articles on writing earn less than any of my other articles. My articles that earn the most are the political ones and the ones on the pandemic and climate change. My fiction articles earn the least.
