I've looked at all your stories. Flaws in some of them. I've covered all these points somewhere.
We differ in your last paragraph, in that it might all result in a smaller, simpler, more local and sustainable world. I would hope, and that is why in my climate adaptation stories I say that building more communities are vital to surviving.
However, if the environment is damaged to such an extent that human beings can't survive, then that will not happen.
Otherwise, we're pretty much on the same page - except that I think human beings are responsible for what they believe.
