It's not about what you believe. It's about what is accepted and proven. All tests that measure Intelligence, measure only the ability to solve problems, and there is a direct correlation between the results of those tests and the ability to solve problems.

Certainly, many different areas of the brain may be involved in the solving of problems, but if people don't have the areas in the brain that can figure out what relativity is or how to warp space or how to build a city under the sea, then that is not regarded as the particular type of intelligence measured by IQ tests.

Generally organizations that require people for research would be interested in people who are exceptional problem solvers....
