It's impossible to make all people have an equal share of things. What is not impossible is to create an economic system where everybody can have sufficient to meet their needs and a few of their wants. We have the technology to do that.

How would that play out.

Let's just say that everybody is given a UBI of $30,000 a year. (I'm using that as an example to demonstrate a principle - nothing more.) Some people will pay the rent, buy the food, and save a percentage of it towards some greater need. Eventually, they will be able to buy something really nice and which only a very small percentage of the population have. Other people will go out and party every night, and live that way for the rest of their lives. Still others will indulge in destructive habits, and land up in a bad place.

One cannot force people to be equal. One can provide everybody with the tools they need to make the best of their lives. If they chose not to use them, that is their choice.
