It's been far more difficult than I thought it would be. By that I mean that the learning curve has been slower than for other countries. It might be the language, but I think it's more than that.
Things are done in quite a different way to many other countries. I love the way people are so considerate, that they actually wait for a light to turn green before they cross a road, that we have to take our own bags for shopping (environmentally aware), etc.
I have struggled with finding digital sim for a portable wifi router. :) And I'm going to wake up at midnight tonight to try and register for Dusseldorf. Everytime I try to register, there are no more appointments left. So I'm going to do it one minute after midnight.
I'm also going to go and see some officials tomorrow (they just called me), and from there I may be able to see more clearly ahead. Dusseldorf accommodation is more expensive than I can afford, so I'm looking at Neuss.
