It's a choice, isn't it? I used student MS Word because I can buy the product without renting. I save my own work on Flash Drives. I don't use Cloud. I don't rent anything. I make sure phones don't have a lock on them. I don't use Spotify.

Why?

Because I absolutely refuse to be advertised to or to be held ransom for anything or anyone.

Most people don't seem to mind. Why? Status. Convenience. I don't know.
