It was damned poor writing. Anyone who is a professional in the field will tell you that. I took the liberty of asking people outside of Medium, some of whom were professional writers and others who were compulsive readers.

They all came back with exactly the same comments - or in the same vane. Boring. Longwinded. Badly written. Couldn't read beyond the third paragraph.

I dont' care that I didnt' win. I do care that there is nothing in that list that I would want to read. It's depressing, and it the kind of writing, non-writers do for school essays.

Professional, good writing, it is not. And I don't care what the winners think. They will now believe that they are actually good writers when they are nothing of the kind.
