It goes a lot deeper than that. America is built on so many cultural myths, it's difficult for an immigrant (me) to make sense of them. They see a bit mythological to me - not quite what one would expect in a first world country.

When these myths don't work out, people become frustrated and angry. I've written about what those studies say, not because I read the studies but because it's basic common sense.
