Is America a Failing Economy?

People say it is a service economy. I think it’s a sales target.

In order for America to reclaim her place, she has to start serving her people. Google maps screenshot

It must be becoming apparent to many people in the USA that their economy is not what they thought it was. Far from it being cutting edge, and the leading economy in the world, it is built on a foundation of quicksand.

It goes something like this.

Someone in America has an idea. They go to China or Japan or Israel to either produce or design the products. Then they put their own brand name on it, and they tell the world that this product was ‘designed’ in America, and that makes it unique, wonderful, and worth the inflated price.

For the record, there is nothing particularly fabulous about design qualifications. I have three — web design, interior design, and fashion design. I always look at Victoria Beckham’s range of clothing and my jaw drops because it is so uninspiring.

In addition to that, the idea that China is stealing all America’s wonderful ideas, and that she is reverse engineering what America asks her to make, is out of whack. China is technologically far ahead of America in some things, and so it’s not possible for her to have stolen those things from America. That’s because America hasn’t invented it yet.
