Interesting piece. I am single, and I prefer to be single. I honestly do not have what it takes to look after someone else. I don't want to have to pander to someone's else's need to be cared for. It drains me. By the same token, I don't need people to care for me.

That said, I cannot imagine not taking the traditional route - a man must be taller than me, must be slim, goodlooking, have a brain, ethics, etc. Does that make me shallow?

It's the last thing I am. I truly do not understand the need to be with someone else.
