Interesting. I think I went to one disco in my life. I hated the lights and the dark. I still prefer a good Viennese ball, dancing jitterbug to Glen Miller, or a sweet cha cha to old time 50s music.
The only modern music I like is Latin - salsa and such.
The day before yesterday I was speaking to a clasically trained musician in London. She said something that I have thought for decades. The music of today (metal, synthesizers, rap, etc) is not music at all. It is a reflection of a discordant soul.
I put it another way. It is disorganized sound, a relection of a mixed- up brain. She said it was a reflection of not been trained in music, but I don't think it's that.
I think it's lead poisoning, poor food, constant noise so that the brain does not gave a chance to detoxify.
Anyway, I likef the cheesy music of the 70s. People like Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson - ugh. Poets, they might have been. Musicians - not.
